Regional Sales Manager (RSM) - Western Region

Job Title:        Regional Sales Manager (RSM)
                      Western Region 
                      WA, OR, CA, ID, NV, MT, WY, UT, AZ

Department:    Sales

Reports to:      Director of Sales

Ross Regional Sales Managers are responsible for capital equipment sales, ongoing account services, direct marketing and product promotions for Ross Industries equipment.   Promote sales of equipment both domestic and internationally under the leadership of the Director of Sales.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Sell Ross portion control equipment to food processing industry
  • Continually visit customers within designated region to assess needs for Ross equipment
  • Follows, identifies customer needs, submit proposals, and close orders
  • Pricing and related incentives other than published pricing or per approved guidelines with the Director of Sales
  • Conduct demonstrations of Ross equipment, both at Ross Industries and customers’ facilities as required
  • Identify applications of Ross equipment for new potential customers
  • Work scheduled trade shows
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions as required
  • Work closely with service technicians on new product installations
  • Prepare and submit sales forecasts for equipment on a monthly basis
  • Submit weekly sales call reports
  • Utilize CRM for all sales activities
  • Ability to travel extensively, minimum of 5 days per week (Monday – Friday) to customer locations.  Position travel requirement is 90% with some weekend work and travel
  • Work effectively and relate well with others
  • Exhibit professional manner in dealing with others and maintain constructive working relationships

Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration or equivalent experience and education


  • Sales in capital equipment strongly preferred
  • Innovative, energetic, and goal oriented driven sales experience
  • Industry experience a plus
  • 5 + years experience in selling capital equipment in food processing industry
  • Proven track record
  • Strong technical background
  • Well organized, detail oriented, with strong communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent customer service and customer relationship aptitude

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to spend extended periods of time walking and standing
  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist at the waist
  • Ability to work in varied production environments (extreme cold and heat)
  • Ability to spend extended period of time traveling by plane, car, domestic and internationally

Other Requirements:

  • Possess valid driver’s license
  • Possess valid passport or ability to obtain one
