Field Service Technician

Ross Industries is seeking a full time Field Service Technician. Join Ross Industries Inc. in the Service Department and become part of our team of hard working professionals who are dedicated to keeping our company of 45 years strong and growing.  This position requires the mechanical and technical expertise necessary to install, troubleshoot, and service ROSS Industries equipment.

The incumbent will be responsible for performing field service and customer training for all ROSS equipment both domestic and internationally.  Candidate will be key liaison with customer’s maintenance and service personnel, as well as Reiser Co. technicians.  Travel commitment is 90% and reports to Service Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to customers and field technicians to install and maintain ROSS equipment
  • Provide telephone support for installation, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment
  • Perform hands on equipment installation and maintenance at customer locations (domestic and international)
  • Perform equipment demonstrations for existing and prospective customers, both at ROSS and customer locations
  • Set up and maintenance of ROSS demonstration equipment as well as the procurement and administration of in house supplies
  • Provide technical training to customers’ service technicians for installation, operation, and maintenance of ROSS equipment
  • Assist with analyzing field performance of ROSS equipment, and participate in the development of new equipment and custom applications
  • Prepare service reports and expense reporting

Absolute Requirements: 

  • Previous experience with food processing equipment and/or food product machinery
  • Previous field service and travel experience
  • Familiar with PLC/PC software programming
  • 5+ years of troubleshooting and maintaining complex mechanical, pneumatic and electrical systems
  • Software programming and troubleshooting capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
  • Travel commitment 90 – 100% - overnight and frequent weekend travel is required
  • Self motivated, detail oriented and superb organization skills
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Product demonstration experience
  • Ability to make sound decision independently
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid Passport or ability to obtain one
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel extensively

Education and Training:

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent
  • Technical school and/or military training in mechanical, pneumatic and/or electrical systems
  • Associates Degree or technician degree in related field

Regional Sales Manager - Western Region

Ross Regional Sales Managers are responsible for capital equipment sales, ongoing account services, direct marketing and product promotions for Ross Industries equipment.   Promote sales of equipment both domestic and internationally under the leadership of the Director of Sales.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Sell Ross portion control equipment to food processing industry
  • Continually visit customers within designated region to assess needs for Ross equipment
  • Follows, identifies customer needs, submit proposals, and close orders
  • Pricing and related incentives other than published pricing or per approved guidelines with the Director of Sales
  • Conduct demonstrations of Ross equipment, both at Ross Industries and customers’ facilities as required
  • Identify applications of Ross equipment for new potential customers
  • Work scheduled trade shows
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions as required
  • Work closely with service technicians on new product installations
  • Prepare and submit sales forecasts for equipment on a monthly basis
  • Submit weekly sales call reports
  • Utilize CRM for all sales activities
  • Ability to travel extensively, minimum of 5 days per week (Monday – Friday) to customer locations.  Position travel requirement is 90% with some weekend work and travel
  • Work effectively and relate well with others
  • Exhibit professional manner in dealing with others and maintain constructive working relationships

Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration or equivalent experience and education

Requirements:

  • Sales in capital equipment strongly preferred
  • Innovative, energetic, and goal oriented driven sales experience
  • Industry experience a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in selling capital equipment
  • 5+years experience in selling capital equipment in food processing industry preferred
  • Proven track record
  • Strong technical background
  • Well organized, detail oriented, with strong communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent customer service and customer relationship aptitude

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to spend extended periods of time walking and standing
  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist at the waist
  • Ability to work in varied production environments (extreme cold and heat)
  • Ability to spend extended period of time traveling by plane, car, domestic and internationally

Other Requirements:

  • Possess valid driver’s license
  • Possess valid passport or ability to obtain one

CNC Machinist

Qualified applicants must have previous experience setting up and operating CNC vertical and horizontal mills and lathe, as well as performing manual machining.  Candidates must be able to read and work from blueprints and drawings, and  to inspect parts, using precision measuring equipment. The ability to stand most of the day, to lift 75 pounds, and to operate a fork lift is required.  Candidates who are selected for an interview will take a hands-on test during the interview process.  Relocation package available to candidates living outside of the metro area.

Job Requirements:

  • Complete set-up and operation of CNC vertical mills, horizontal mills and lathes
  • Experience with Haas and Okuma equipment highly desired
  • Must be able to interpret CAD drawings and inspect parts
  • Identify and set-up correct tooling for jobs
  • Capable of basic program editing
  • Expected to run multiple machines
  • Programming with MasterCam is a plus, but not required
  • Experience with fixture design is preferred
  • Operation of manual mills and lathes a plus

Electro-Mechanical Technician

Manufacture and assemble industrial food processing and packaging equipment to include but not limited to hydraulic cylinders, electrical assemblies, etc.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Assemble electrical and mechanical assemblies/ prototypes according to routings, blueprints, and engineering drawings
  • Measure parts to specified tolerances
  • Clean, assemble, disassemble and replace parts as required
  • Use hand tools, chemicals, adhesives and epoxies
  • Perform bench type processes to complete mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub assemblies
  • Test functional performance of assembly and/or machine
  • Maintain and monitor test equipment as necessary to ensure accuracy
  • Set up and perform test of prototype product and equipment
  • Troubleshoot equipment and provide support as required

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3 - 5 years of progressive experience in electro-mechanical field
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, including  wiring and mechanical assembly drawings
  • Knowledge of electronic and electrical circuits
  • Ability to wire electrical schematics
  • Ability to work in shop environment, standing for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds, work required overtime
  • Ability to work required overtime to include evenings, and weekends
  • High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Requirements:

  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanicals with machinery
  • Ability to read schematics for electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic machines
  • Hands on experience with controls
