Regional Sales Manager (RSM) - North East Region

Job Title:        Regional Sales Manager (RSM)
                      North East Region 
                      ME, VT, NY, NH, MA, RI, CT, PA, OH, DE, NJ, MD, DC

Department:    Sales

Reports to:      Director of Sales

Ross Industries, Inc. is seeking an accomplished Regional Sales Manager to support to North East Region in the sales of capital equipment, and ongoing account services.  Extensive travel is required; the expectation is 75% with some weekend work required.   The successful candidate will process a BA/BS in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration or equivalent experience and education.

The incumbent will perform the following essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Sell Ross portion control equipment to food processing industry
  • Continually visit customers within designated region to assess needs for Ross equipment
  • Identify  customer needs, submit proposals, and close orders
  • Conduct demonstrations of Ross equipment, both at Ross Industries and customers’ facilities as required
  • Prepare and submit sales forecasts for equipment on a monthly basis
  • Utilize CRM for all sales activities

Job requirements include:

  • Sales in capital equipment strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in food industry
  • 5 + years experience in selling capital equipment in food processing industry preferred
  • Proven track record
  • Strong technical background
  • Well organized, detail oriented, with strong communication and presentation skills

Shipping & Receiving Materials Handler

Job Title:          Shipping & Receiving Materials Handler

Department:    Materials Management

Reports to:      Quality & Materials Management Manager

Ross Industries is the world leader and manufacturer of commercial food processing and packaging equipment.  Ross is seeking (2) experienced Shipping & Receiving Material Handlers to join the Materials Management department.

Job Summary:

Positions are responsible for all activities related to Shipping/Receiving and Material Handling.

Duties & Responsibilities for Receiving/Material Management:

  • Unload and receive all incoming freight
  • Verify incoming material for identification, count and condition against bills of lading, packing slips, etc.
  • Report discrepancies to appropriate department for resolution
  • Expedite items when necessary and communicate receipt to inquiring department
  • Accurate processing and closure of PO’s in M1 system, review and dispositions items for shortages
  • Receive incoming return goods for processing
  • Route and stock orders received to proper location within established guidelines
  • Sort and place materials on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence, shelf maintenance
  • Conduct cycle counts
  • Provide assistance to Inventory Control/MM
  • Adhere to and enforce safety policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Duties & Responsibilities for Shipping:

  • Prepares & expedites shipments utilizing M1 system
  • Prepare all shipping documents in timely and accurate manner, ensure weights and shipping charges
  • Picks and pulls parts from locations throughout  warehouse, picking product and preparing it for shipment the same day both domestic and international orders
  • Determines labeling requirements, pack product containers, prepare and affix shipping labels
  • Use forklift truck to load and unload materials and products
  • Adhere to and enforce safety policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Absolute Requirements:

  • Must have good working knowledge of part numbers and inventory control systems
  • Ability to lift 70 pounds
  • Minimum 1 year of shipping/receiving  experience in manufacturing environment
  • MS Office
  • Minimum 1 year certified Forklift truck experience
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret written instruction

Education and Training:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year in manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience using FEDEX, UPS software as well as international shipping experience is a plus
  • Valid Driver’s License

CNC Machinist

Job Title:          CNC Machinist

Department:    Machine Shop/Manufacturing

Reports to:      Machine Shop Supervisor

Qualified applicants must have previous experience setting up and operating CNC vertical and horizontal mills and lathe, as well as performing manual machining.  Candidates must be able to read and work from blueprints and drawings, and to inspect parts, using precision measuring equipment. The ability to stand most of the day, to lift 75 pounds, and to operate a fork lift is required.  Candidates who are selected for an interview will take a hands-on test during the interview process.  Relocation package available to candidates living outside of the metro area.

Job Requirements:

  • Complete set-up and operation of CNC vertical mills, horizontal mills and lathes
  • Experience with Haas and Okuma equipment highly desired
  • Must be able to interpret CAD drawings and inspect parts
  • Identify and set-up correct tooling for jobs
  • Capable of basic program editing
  • Expected to run multiple machines
  • Programming with MasterCam is a plus, but not required
  • Experience with fixture design is preferred
  • Operation of manual mills and lathes a plus

 Education and Training:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year in manufacturing environment
  • Valid Driver’s License

Machine Builder/Electro-Mechanical Technician

Job Title:          Machine Builder/Electro-Mechanical Technician

Department:    Machine Assembly

Reports to:      Assembly Manager

Ross Industries is seeking (3) experienced Machine Builders/Electro-Mechanical Technicians who will use their specialized skills and talents to support the manufacturing department, as well as continually improve the products and services we provide to our customers.

Job Summary:

Build, assemble, and manufacture industrial food processing and packaging equipment to include but not limited to automated, servo-mechanical or electromechanical equipment, hydraulic cylinders, electrical assemblies, sub-assemblies, etc.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with supervisors to assemble machines
  • Work with Engineering and Machine Shop to problem-solve equipment
  • Apply knowledge of hydraulics, electrical circuits, mechanics, pneumatics, and hydraulic testing equipment to complete work assignments
  • Use technical manuals, schematic drawings, and blue prints to determine tasks to be performed
  • Positions parts and sub-assemblies by using templates or reading measurements
  • Build and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment, including programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gages and test equipment
  • Documents actions by completing production, quality, or engineering forms
  • Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations
  • Practices lean manufacturing and/or continuation improvement methodologies


  • Minimum of 2 – 4 years of machinery assembly
  • Strong mechanical aptitude of building, constructing, and assembling large mechanical systems and machines
  • Good quality mechanical and/or electronic ability is a must; a combination of both is preferred
  • Experience with using different types of pneumatic and electrical tools including air tools, lift and moving devises, drills, and an assortment of hand tools
  • Able to read, understand and analyze machine drawings, models, and electrical schematics
  • Well organized with an aptitude for details
  • Able to deal well with a variety of people and personalities and to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
  • Able to work independently as well as within a group to resolve problems and/or issues
  • Able to stand and walk the majority of the day. Able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and 75 pounds with assistance
  • Physical mobility to include but not limited to stretching, lifting, bending, twisting, etc.) is required to perform job duties
  • Able to work required overtime to include evenings and some weekends
